Hey from Ryan
Hey Everybody! It’s me, Ryan, writing this time. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and give an update. Life is good for us here in North Carolina. Of course, we miss all of you but we are doing well and are happy. I am still looking for employment…it has been a bit of a trial, but I feel like we are making progress. I have had some interviews and am still getting contacted by recruiters; now if we could just hypnotize them to say yes. J In the meantime, however, we’ve been blessed with a number of odd jobs that have given us a boost (painting, yard work, house sitting, dog sitting). And Kayla is so wonderful, she is just so supportive and full of faith.
We have been able to have some fun, like Saturday for example when some simple gardening turned into a hose fight! Kayla wants me to tell y’all how it started. Well let’s see. The way I remember it, Kayla was outside tending to the watermelons. Being a good husband, I said “Here Kayla, here is a glass of ice cold spring mineral water. Would you like to drink it while I shade you with this umbrella and give you a massage? If you’d like I can fetch you some chocolate, too.” “Thank you,” she said with a devious smile. “Well, I’m off to do the laundry and fix dinner,” I said. “Bang this gong if you need me.” As I was walking away she tripped me from behind and SPLASH, she soaked me through with the very water I had given her. Ok, maybe it didn’t really happen like that. Maybe I actually decided to sneak attack Kayla when she was trying to weed the garden. But hey, I was still a gentleman, I let her have the bigger hose. (Ok, so maybe I only gave that to her after I had thoroughly soaked her) Anyway, we love each other and have fun together, and we love all of you and hope that y’all are doing well.
(It's kinda hard to tell, but we're soaked!)

North Carolina
We're still here, I promise! However, "here" is now in Colfax, North Carolina! (by Greensboro.) We are doing well. Ryan is still looking for a job and I'm enjoying helping Natalie out around the house. (and watching movies on their big-screen T.V. with the Clearplay) :)
Natalie and Larry have been kind enough to let us stay here at their home for as long as we need until Ryan finds a job....
It's been really neat to spend some more time here with Ryan's family.
So guess what! Catherine, Ryan's little sister, is now engaged!! His name is Jared Holt, and they met at BYU. Good luck to you both! We love you!
P.S. I gave Ryan an amazing hair cut this last week. :)
We love you all!!

Dang Computers!
I wanted to post this blog a week and a half ago, but lets just say that computers are dumb and leave it at that. So here it is, the blog I wrote on March 5th:

Well, now's as good a time to catch up as ever, I suppose.
Quite a few things have happened in the (sorry!) 3+ months since I've written. Lets see... I've cut Ryan's hair twice now by myself- and I did it with a pair of sewing scissors!! I know, I'm amazing. Look how it turned out!
Before:
After:
Ryan and I spent our first Christmas together up here in Rexburg. It was beautiful. We were going to go down to Monticello, but Ryan couldn't get off work.
I didn't have a lot of Christmas decorations at first, but my wonderful sister and mom sent me a few things, and I was able to make something of my own! Ryan helped me develop the idea. But take a look at this!- our very own fireplace!!
Santa's got to have SOMEWHERE to come down, doesn't he? Anyway, we like it. Although, come to think of it, I still haven't gotten around to making the fire..... oh, well. We've enjoyed it, keeping it up even now (until we move). Which reminds me- Ryan and I will be moving to North Carolina probably the last week in April. Wow. (These last few months have flown by). We're going to go down to Mom and Dad's in Monticello for a couple weeks first before we leave. We'll move out of our apartment the first week in April. Wow.
But anyway, back to Christmas, it was really neat to have that first Christmas together just the two of us, and then Mom and Dad got to come visit us a couple days later!! We loved it!!

The first week in January, Ryan and I found out that we were pregnant. What a glorious thing! We were very excited for this new little addition to our family (To me it seemed quite unreal at first...)
We were very happy about it. However, a couple weeks later, when it was about 5 weeks along, we miscarried. It was very sad, but this is nature's way of dealing with things, and we will have a family someday..
In the meantime, I am enjoying spending my time with my Ry-Guy.
Also, about a week before Christmas I started working at Deseret Industries. I worked in clothing production and met a lot of wonderful people. How I will miss them....
I stopped working there about a week and a half ago so as to get some needed things done before we move.
In the middle of February Ryan and I went down to Monticello for my Dad's surprise birthday bash. It was so fun to be able to spend time with family. We love you Dad!
I wanted to upload a video of when we went hooky-bobbing, but the dang computer wouldn't let me, so here's a couple pictures instead:

Fun, huh?
Some other exciting things that have been happening:
I finished Harry Potter!! That's right, I finished the 7th book!! Woo-hoo!! What a fun series! I'm so glad I got to read it. Thank you Ry-Guy, for everything, and for being patient with me! I love you.
Also, after almost 6 months of marriage, we finally drove to Idaho Falls and got my name changed!!! ;) That's right, now I'm officially Kayla Rachele Allen. :) Ryan also dropped me off at Kohl's where I took a couple hours and used my gift card that he'd given me for Christmas to buy some cute clothes. :) Thanks, Love! You're the best!
And last of all but not least, today (March 5th), is Ryan and I's 6- month anniversary!! Wow, time flies. How grateful I am for my wonderful husband. I love you, hon! Happy (6-month) Anniversary!

Long time no write
Hello! Long time no write! Sorry about that....
Great news! About a week or two ago a lady offered me a job! She owns her own business selling purses and bags that she's made, and it's really booming. She needs someone to cut out fabric for her, so she offered to hire me to do it! I was way excited. It's the perfect job for me- I've just been working out of the apartment, I can basically choose my own hours, and she's a great boss. I am so grateful for all the ways that the Lord has blessed us. He is truly a Loving, Caring Heavenly Father.
I hope all is going well for everyone.
For anyone who hasn't heard (Celise also posted it on the Ramsay Family Blog), my brother Brady and his wife Patrice had a new baby boy! His name is Toren Ralph Ramsay, and he's adorable! You can check out the pictures on their blog, bradyandpatrice@blogspot.com . How I love all my nieces and nephews!!
I am so glad to hear that Sadie, Dan and Melissa's little girl, is doing so much better.
As for Ryan and I, we'll be sticking around for a few more months here in Idaho (that's our plan), and then making the move to North Carolina. We are again, grateful for the many blessings the Lord has poured out upon us, and so grateful also for all of your love and support. We love you all.
Kayla and Ryan
PS. Harry Potter is going well. Ryan and I are on the second book. :) Wait! He just now finished it. :)

Harry and Hermione Halloween!!

Ryan really wanted to be Harry Potter for Halloween this year, so he dressed up as Harry and I decided to be Hermione Granger. I had a lot of fun getting all dressed up and trying to do my hair and everything like her. What do you think?
I also made stuffed pumpkin and it turned out great (thanks Patrice!), and Ryan and I watched the 4th Harry Potter movie that we'd rented from clean flicks. It was a fun evening! I love it when Ryan comes home from work! It was also fun going to the grocery store in our costumes. ;)

Happy Halloween everyone!

"Expeliarmus!!!.."
Yesterday Ryan and I started Harry Potter. I know!! I'm giving in! Noooooooo!!!!! He's editing the swear words out for me, so we're both kinda excited to be getting started- if fact, he's probably more excited than I am that I'm going to be reading them. (He's read them before). So as much as I've been rebellious in the past.....I'm reading Harry Potter. I'll let you know how it goes. So far, I really like it. Except I feel so sorry for poor Harry having to sleep in a cupboard and be at the mercy of the Dursleys the first 11 years of his life. Can you imagine??? I take comfort in the fact that it is fiction, (though I'm sure there's some awful child abuse really going on in this world). How blessed I am to have been raised in a loving family who cared for me so so so so much, in every aspect of my life. How blessed I am for my wonderful angel family!!! I love you all!!!!!!
How are things going for everyone? Well, I hope. How I love you.
I enjoy checking out other people's blogs- keep up the work, and keep smilin'!!!

Evening at the park
Wow!!! Time flies. I promise I'm still here- even though, well, lets face it, I'm pretty slack already when it comes to this... I keep meaning to do it, but it just seems like the day runs out before I can get to it. I'll try to do better.
Thanks to all of you who wrote comments on my last blog- I'm still learning bout all the cool tricks of blogging, so I just saw them, and wow, I sure do feel loved!!!! Thank you all you wonderful people!
Just a little background about my wonderful husband and I: Ryan Grant Allen and I met in our BYU-Idaho student ward in January of this year. I'd just moved into the ward, and saw this incredibly handsome guy with brown hair and the biggest blue eyes I'd ever seen... and, well, the rest is history. He proposed to me on July 17th (I whole-heartedly said YES!) and we were married in the Monticello Temple on September 5th, 2008. Seems like a fairy tale, doesn't it? However, I will be forever grateful that this one actually did happen to me. Wow. That's all I can say. I'll be forever in debt to my Father in Heaven for this beautiful gift he's given to us.
Ryan and I now live in Rexburg, Idaho (the same place we met). He works at Wells Fargo, and I try my best to not burn down the house while he's gone. :) Right now I'm in the process of finding a job for a couple months.
We enjoy our evenings together, and love to do fun things like watch a movie, or go for a walk, or try making homemade onion rings....(that's what we did last night, and though was was quite a bit of smoke and a bit of eye irritation involved, we enjoyed it). On Saturday we went to the park and had a picnic. (Kisper, we LOVE the blanket!)

We also had fun turning our ninja turtle and power ranger action figures into parachuters and launching them off. :)
I hope y'all enjoy the videos!
